Hearthstone Mercenaries Tier List - Best Party Compositions!
Looking for the best Mercenaries in Hearthstone? Look no further. Many of the top players in the world have been putting in hours in the new game mode and have had opinions on the best way to rank them. Thijs Molendijk, famous Dutch streamer, and (sadly) former Grandmaster, has made one such Tier list, with PvP in mind, which he posted to twitter.

Not only did Thijs post about the Mercenaries Tier list, he also posted about his personal journey on the PvP ladder, which brought him as high as Rank 23 on the Top 200 in the EU.
He showed off the Party composition he used to go 40-1 before running into a comp that wrecked him several times played by EducatedCollins. Thijs Party was as follows:
His tweet commented "Start comp Xyrella - Samuro - Garrosh. Guldan Flex and Cairne - Diablo as Combo tool."
Community Tournament
Thijs was not the only one to have success with this comp. In a community driven Hearthstone Mercenaries Tournament, quite possibly the first of it's kind, a player called Leaf won with a Party that was the same as Thijs' except for swapping a Varden Dawngrasp for Gul'dan. To finish things off, we have for you the Hearthstone Mercenaries list used by Americas Grandmaster Fr0zen, who went 41-0 in his games after ~6400 MMR rating to the no. 1 Rank in Americas with a whopping 7605 Rating. His comp looked like this:
In a follow up tweet he indicated that his starting trio was Thrall-Garrosh-Saurfang.

for every combo you mentioned, there is someone that summons minions for those synergies. Old Murk eye is summoning murlocs himself, Tavish and King Krush can summon beasts, couple of them summon demons and couple of them summon dragons. So I don't really know what you are talking about. Yes, some synergies are currently way stronger than others, but its a new game without enough stats to balance the game properly. Kinda expected.

Ragnoros is pretty damn powerful, I don't know how he can be listed at C tier.

slow as hell and requires a kill for his 2. to chain. In the higher levels that is pretty bad. He also dont provide much synergy.

There're decks running the dragon synergy stuff. Nature is good. Fire... I think generally gets run with dragon stuff.

I dont agree with a few things. All demons at D? Varden just C tier? Its his personal list and no set in stone. A lot of synergies are also incomplete (looking at you beasts, elementals and demons). When they get more mercs they will be extremely powerful. Hope for fast updates with new mercs to complete my beast team!

Same, it definitely seems like Blizzard wants to develop some synergies further but haven't done so. I also do think some are a bit overpowered, so I wonder how nerfs/buffs will work on this mode.

Why are people so hell bent on rankings? can they verify that every player across the board as the same tier of abilities? serious question, if they can't verify that, the rankings mean absolutely nothing. Also, who put Velen at B? he's easily A+, his synergy with Xyrella is nuts, his holy buff applies to her and it lets her cast TWICE.

I dont think synergy is a big part of the ranking. All demons besides Diablo are D tier but when they are together they are broken.

I think an interesting observation to make is that all the characters from "Book of Mercenaries" are both rare-quality (obtainable) and powerful in terms of abilities. (Haven't tried Scabbs yet, but the others have all felt strong in terms of power-level, perhaps Guff is a little clunky at times).

I tried him today for a quest and he's first ability at least is awful, you can't activated the Combo at 4 speed unless you try pretty hard, there are not that many fast abilities.

His Living Brambles ability is 5 speed and BruKan’s Muddy Footing and Malfurion’s Cenarion Surge abilities are both 4 speed.

I think he's talking about Scabb's combo ability. Brightwing is also a neat mercenary with a 3-speed nature ability.

Tier lists are trash. The whole tier list thing makes no sense in synergy-based games.
Every merc is S tier in the right comp. Every S tier merc is trash in the wrong comp.
